In 2014, we founded Knighthead International in the Cayman Islands to bring annuities to the offshore market, giving individuals around the world the peace of mind and freedom that comes from our portfolio of competitive guaranteed return products.
After becoming a leading provider of offshore annuities, we started our reinsurance business, Knighthead Re, to serve insurance companies in the US and around the world. In 2024, we extended that expertise and financial strength to US customers through Knighthead Life.
In all of our insurance businesses, strong ratings from AM Best and KBRA offer visibility into our financial strength. Our experienced team offers product guidance and true partnership, and our global operating model provides diversification and balance to help our partners and customers pursue their financial goals.

Edward Massaro is a seasoned executive with extensive expertise in investment management, capital markets, and business development. As CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Knighthead Insurance Group, he oversees strategic investment initiatives and operational leadership for insurance products and assets. Previously, he played a pivotal role in building Knighthead Capital Management, driving business strategy, fund raising, and investor relations while spearheading the launch of Knighthead Annuity & Life Assurance Company in 2014.
Throughout his career, Edward has developed a vast global network of investors, raising over $5 billion for hedge fund products and $1 billion for direct lending real estate strategies. His leadership spans major financial institutions, including HSBC Securities, RBS Greenwich Capital, UBS Investment Bank, and Solomon Smith Barney, where he specialized in leveraged finance, high-yield securities, and institutional investment strategies.
Mr. Massaro holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business and a BA in Chemical Engineering from Yale University.
